Shearling & Sumptuous

I have been so excited about this jacket for a little while. At the turn of 2016 it was clear to see the Shearling Aviator was going to be big news, with Alexa Chung, Kylie Jenner and Blake Lively all spotted in the Acne Velocite Jacket.

Buying a new winter coat is always fun too isn’t it?! I always like to get in there early, unless there’s a mid-season drop that just can’t be missed…

Last January, I found the perfect Shearling Aviator in Zara (pictured above) and got it straight away as it was sure to sell quickly (and it did). I wore it a lot – it was warm, added a cool edge to almost any outfit and had a luxe vibe so is fitting for most occasions. That said, there were times when I did think that a black Shearling jacket in a similar style would be a dream so I set out on a mission for A/W16 to find the “one.”

This is it! It’s from Warehouse, shearling and sumptuous. and whilst there are many to choose from. this was my absolute favourite. The quality and value is second to none – they also have it in Khaki too. It has a faux fur lining instead of a faux shearling finish, just like the jacked Alexa donned. I love that this particular one is all black as it makes it very versatile and similar to my Zara version; it has a luxe vibe; works dressed down with distressed denim as well as with a dress; or even with work attire (it’s smart enough too). A strong all-rounder for me!

Plus, it’s warm and cosy – even more so than my Zara one. The inside arm is so soft, even my nana approves of it. This makes it very practical and a great piece to keep you warm as the weather begins to drop.

Below I’ve done a quick round-up of some of my favourite styles for all budgets, mainly Aviator style, but a couple of great alternatives too.
I wore this with a white midi shirt dress (black and white is always chic) from H&M – it has an air of their studio collection about it because of the way the belt loops through at the back, its loose there, yet fitting from the front. It’s very unusual and I love that about it. Crisp white shirt dresses that can be worn for work are a must-have in my wardrobe as they can be worn in the winter with boots like this but then I also wore it in the summer with the sandals featured here from Topshop.

A similar white shirt dress can be found here.

I hope you love them as much as I do!
