A playful nod to couture

That is what the current embroidery trend has been described as and I get it, I have already posted about my love for embroidery and it is fast becoming an obsession. It oozes creativity, the colour, the pattern, the stitching, it’s all super creative and playful and it’s something that I feel resonates with me! I also love that there is something about it that looks handmade with a personal touch and I like that about it too.

There is also a granny-chic aesthetic about it but hey, if that’s good enough for Valentino, Chanel and Gucci, well I’m there. Embroidery everything.

When I saw this jumper, it wasn’t in my size but boy did I start a jumper hunt in the store. I was like a woman on a mission, actually there is no  like about it: I was a woman on a mission.

This jumper was another little Zara find (pictured here but not yet available online).  I’ll be wearing it with denim and slip on loafers as well with tailored trousers and midi-skirts like this one. One things for sure, it’s something I’ll always pair with plain accompaniments to let it do it’s thing and stand out!

I also LOVE this midi skirt – it’s from Topshop and has a great length and paper bag waist. It’s an item I wear a lot with black, a black t-shirt on holiday, a chunky black knit when I got home.

The shoes (available here) and bag are also from Zara (the bag is something I’ve had for a while), the sunglasses are from Topshop (similar available here – I love this piece) and the earrings are my favourite jewellery item at the minute from Cos (similar available here).

I’ll be back at the weekend as I am off to Barcelona for meetings tomorrow, but don’t forget to follow along on my insta: @fallthreadoverheels.
