A little while ago I wrote a blog about proportion play (here) where I talked about having some fun with proportions and lengths, and the good news is it lives on into Spring!
It’s the perfect combination for transeasonal dressing, wearing trousers with a dress over the top, for if you pick the right trousers with a spring like print, it brings you forward a season, with the trousers keeping you as warm as say tights would, all whilst giving you a more summery vibe. Mix the pattern with a pastel hue on the top half and you’re good to go – instant cool. Of course this works the other way round too, for example a floral kimono with a more plain pair of trousers, much like my last post (I can spot a pattern appearing here).
Dresses over trousers, were also being worn everywhere in the latest London fashion week by street style icons, and I for sure, can see why.
Plus, you all know I am a fan of the cost-per-wear ratio (and if you watch my instagram stories you’ll know I have work this tuxedo dress “out out” before, which means I am making the most of it.
Below in my outfit story I have linked some similar outfit pieces (including the exact tuxedo dress in multiple colours). These trousers are old from Zara, but they still stock very similar ones, and some others can be found below – I really love the first pair!! The shoes are old from & Other Stories and but some beautiful grey lace-ups can be found in my outfit story below too!
Plus, have you seen I’ve updated the “Shop my Wardrobe” feature of the site with lots of new yummy things?!!
Have a great week!
